Surah An-Nisa 4:60
اَلَمۡ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيۡنَ يَزۡعُمُوۡنَ اَنَّهُمۡ اٰمَنُوۡا بِمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ اِلَيۡكَ وَمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ يَّتَحَاكَمُوۡۤا اِلَى الطَّاغُوۡتِ وَقَدۡ اُمِرُوۡۤا اَنۡ يَّكۡفُرُوۡا بِهٖ ؕ وَيُرِيۡدُ الشَّيۡـطٰنُ اَنۡ يُّضِلَّهُمۡ ضَلٰلًاۢ بَعِيۡدًا‏ ۝
Alam tara ila allatheenayazAAumoona annahum amanoo bima onzila ilayka wamaonzila min qablika yureedoona an yatahakamoo ila attaghootiwaqad omiroo an yakfuroo bihi wayureedu ashshaytanuan yudillahum dalalan baAAeeda
Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, O Muḥammad, and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to ṭāghūt, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray.

Theme of the Ayat

The Hypocrisy of Law: Seeking judgment from corrupt sources despite claiming faith.

The Insight

This condemns hypocrites who claim faith but seek judgment from external, corrupt sources (*Taghut*) that they were commanded to reject. **Seek pure legal counsel.** Do not turn to illegitimate, corrupt, or faithless sources for legal or moral arbitration. Your legal and ethical framework must align with your faith.
