Surah Al-Imran (3:105)

وَلَا تَكُوۡنُوۡا كَالَّذِيۡنَ تَفَرَّقُوۡا وَاخۡتَلَفُوۡا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ الۡبَيِّنٰتُؕ وَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيۡمٌۙ‏ ۝

Wala takoonoo kallatheenatafarraqoo wakhtalafoo min baAAdi ma jaahumualbayyinatu waola-ika lahum AAathabun AAatheem

And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment

Theme of the Ayat

The Avoidance of Schism: Do not follow the path of division after knowledge.

The Insight

Believers are warned not to be like those who divided themselves into sects after receiving clear evidence. Reject sectarian identity. After gaining clear knowledge, refuse to adopt a divisive identity that alienates others or breaks communal bonds. The clarity of truth must lead to unity, not schism.
