And they say, "Never will the Fire touch us, except for a few numbered days." Say, "Have you taken a covenant with Allāh? For Allāh will never break His covenant. Or do you say about Allāh that which you do not know?"

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The False Sense of Security: Claiming heaven despite continuous transgression.

The Insight

They make the arrogant claim that the Fire will not touch them except for a few numbered days, suggesting their historical status guarantees them salvation. Salvation is earned by action, not birthright or group membership. Reject any doctrine that promotes a false sense of security, encouraging moral complacency instead of daily struggle and righteousness.
