AYAT.ONE
Fawaylun lillatheena yaktuboona alkitababi-aydeehim thumma yaqooloona hatha min AAindi Allahiliyashtaroo bihi thamanan qaleelan fawaylun lahum mimmakatabat aydeehim wawaylun lahum mimma yaksiboon
So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allāh," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Corruption of the Clergy: Distorting scripture for profit and status.

The Insight

A stern warning to those who consciously write their own 'scriptures' and falsely claim they are from God, simply to gain a small price. Be extremely careful about the source of religious knowledge. We must scrutinize scholars or speakers who seem to change God's law to match popular opinion, often motivated by financial gain or social status.
