Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknahafajaaha ba/suna bayatan aw hum qa-iloon
˹Imagine˺ how many societies We have destroyed! Our torment took them by surprise ˹while sleeping˺ at night or midday.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Suddenness of Judgment: God's punishment comes without warning to the unjust.

The Insight

The verse questions how many unjust communities God has destroyed, confirming that divine punishment comes suddenly, often while they are distracted. **Live prepared for finality.** The speed of God's justice is a warning. Do not be complacent in sin, as punishment can arrive without notice, even in moments of greatest ease.
