Surah Al-A'raf (7:168)

وَقَطَّعۡنٰهُمۡ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ اُمَمًا ۚ مِنۡهُمُ الصّٰلِحُوۡنَ وَمِنۡهُمۡ دُوۡنَ ذٰ لِكَ وَبَلَوۡنٰهُمۡ بِالۡحَسَنٰتِ وَالسَّيِّاٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُوۡنَ‏ ۝

WaqattaAAnahum fee al-ardiomaman minhumu assalihoona waminhum doona thalikawabalawnahum bilhasanati wassayyi-atilaAAallahum yarjiAAoon

And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good times and bad that perhaps they would return to obedience.

The Division of the Land: Scattering the people across the earth due to their failure.

The Insight

God scattered them across the earth, dividing them into good and bad segments. **Recognize the consequence of disunity.** Their failure to uphold unity and justice led to their fragmentation and dispersal across the world.
