Say, "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say, "Allāh is witness between me and you. And this Qur’ān was revealed to me that I may warn you thereby and whomever it reaches. Do you truly testify that with Allāh there are other deities?" Say, "I will not testify with you." Say, "Indeed, He is but one God, and indeed, I am free of what you associate with Him."

Theme of the Ayat

The Ultimate Testimony: God is the greatest witness to the truth of the message. |

The Insight

The Prophet is commanded to ask: 'Whose testimony is the greatest?' The answer is God, who testifies to the truth of the Qur'an. **Base truth on divine witness.** The ultimate source of validation for the Qur'an and the prophetic mission is God's own direct testimony.
