Why do the rabbis and religious scholars not forbid them from saying what is sinful and devouring what is unlawful? How wretched is what they have been practicing.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Failure of Spiritual Authority: Why scholars and leaders failed to prevent sin.

The Insight

The religious leaders (rabbis and priests) are questioned why they did not forbid the people from sinful speech and consuming illegal earnings. **Hold leadership accountable.** Spiritual and moral authorities have a duty to actively challenge corruption and sin in their communities, not remain silent for comfort or status.
