Surah An-Nisa 4:37
اۨلَّذِيۡنَ يَـبۡخَلُوۡنَ وَيَاۡمُرُوۡنَ النَّاسَ بِالۡبُخۡلِ وَيَكۡتُمُوۡنَ مَاۤ اٰتٰٮهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنۡ فَضۡلِهٖ​ ؕ وَ اَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ عَذَابًا مُّهِيۡنًا​ ۚ‏ ۝
Allatheena yabkhaloona waya/muroona annasabilbukhli wayaktumoona ma atahumuAllahu min fadlihi waaAAtadna lilkafireenaAAathaban muheena
Who are stingy and enjoin upon other people stinginess and conceal what Allāh has given them of His bounty - and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment -

Theme of the Ayat

The Crime of Stinginess: Condemnation of the miser who hoards and hides wealth.

The Insight

This condemns those who are miserly with God's provision, encourage stinginess in others, and conceal God's bounty. **Be generous and transparent.** Recognize that hoarding wealth is a sign of deep spiritual sickness. Practice visible generosity to encourage others and be transparent about God's provision in your life.
