And We raised over them the mount for refusal of their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly"; and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath"; and We took from them a solemn covenant.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Covenant of Authority: Taking the promise under the threat of the mountain.

The Insight

God raised the mountain over them and commanded them to enter the gate humbly and not violate the Sabbath. **Respect God's authority.** God sometimes uses overwhelming physical signs to enforce the gravity of His covenant.
