Mention, O Muḥammad, when the wife of ʿImrān said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated for Your service, so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing."

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Sincere Supplication: Imran's wife dedicating her child to God's service.

The Insight

The wife of Imran supplicated to God, vowing to dedicate the child in her womb (Maryam) for exclusive, pure worship and service in the Holy Temple. Dedicate your intentions. Before embarking on major commitments (childbirth, marriage, career), set a firm intention to dedicate the outcome to God's service. This elevates the mundane to the spiritual.
