Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allāh has with Him the best return i.e., Paradise.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Temptation of Attraction: Recognizing the fleeting desires of this world.

The Insight

God describes the worldly desires that are made attractive to people: women, children, piled-up gold and silver, fine horses, and crops. Acknowledge and manage temptation. Do not pretend these desires don't exist, but recognize their fleeting nature. Focus your investment on eternal things, using worldly assets as tools, not ultimate goals.
