Surah Al-Baqarah (2:72)

وَ اِذۡ قَتَلۡتُمۡ نَفۡسًا فَادّٰرَءۡتُمۡ فِيۡهَا ؕ وَاللّٰهُ مُخۡرِجٌ مَّا كُنۡتُمۡ تَكۡتُمُوۡنَۚ‏ ۝

Wa-ith qataltum nafsan faddara/tumfeeha wallahu mukhrijun ma kuntumtaktumoon

And recall when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allāh was to bring out that which you were concealing.

Theme of the Ayat

The Miracle of Resurrection: God reveals the hidden truth through a dead man.

The Insight

This recounts the miracle where God commanded them to strike the dead man with a piece of the cow, revealing the identity of his murderer. Trust in hidden justice. When a grave injustice or moral mystery occurs, trust that God will eventually reveal the truth. He will use unexpected means to ensure justice is served, even by reviving the dead.
