If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you, and He will remove from you some of your misdeeds thereby. And Allāh, of what you do, is fully Aware.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Virtue of Hidden Charity: Private giving is superior for purification.

The Insight

Making charity public is good, but giving it privately to the poor is better for you and purifies sins. Prioritize purity of intent. While public giving can encourage others, hidden charity is superior for strengthening sincerity (*Ikhlas*) and avoiding ego. Let your left hand not know what your right hand gives.
