Surah Al-Baqarah 2:250
وَلَمَّا بَرَزُوۡا لِجَـالُوۡتَ وَجُنُوۡدِهٖ قَالُوۡا رَبَّنَآ اَفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡنَا صَبۡرًا وَّثَبِّتۡ اَقۡدَامَنَا وَانۡصُرۡنَا عَلَى الۡقَوۡمِ الۡکٰفِرِيۡنَؕ‏ ۝
Walamma barazoo lijalootawajunoodihi qaloo rabbana afrigh AAalayna sabranwathabbit aqdamana wansurnaAAala alqawmi alkafireen
And when they went forth to face Goliath and his soldiers, they said, "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Theme of the Ayat

The Supplication for Steadfastness: The prayer of the few against the many.

The Insight

The small, faithful army prayed for patience, firm conviction, and victory against the overwhelming enemy (Goliath). Pray for moral strength. When facing seemingly insurmountable opposition, focus your prayers on internal strength: patience, steadfastness, and God's assistance, not just the destruction of the enemy.
