AYAT.ONE
Tilka ommatun qad khalat laha makasabat walakum ma kasabtum wala tus-aloona AAammakano yaAAmaloon
That was a nation which has passed on. It will have the consequence of what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Accountability of the Past: Their deeds belong only to them.

The Insight

This reminds the current generations that the past communities have passed on, and their deeds are their own. The current generation will only be questioned about their own actions. Focus on personal spiritual inventory. Do not rely on the legacy or merit of your ancestors. Your spiritual standing is based solely on your own actions and righteousness today.
