Surah Al-Baqarah (2:113)

وَقَالَتِ الۡيَهُوۡدُ لَـيۡسَتِ النَّصٰرٰى عَلٰى شَىۡءٍ وَّقَالَتِ النَّصٰرٰى لَـيۡسَتِ الۡيَهُوۡدُ عَلٰى شَىۡءٍۙ وَّهُمۡ يَتۡلُوۡنَ الۡكِتٰبَؕ كَذٰلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ مِثۡلَ قَوۡلِهِمۡۚ فَاللّٰهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ فِيۡمَا كَانُوۡا فِيۡهِ يَخۡتَلِفُوۡنَ‏ ۝

Waqalati alyahoodu laysati annasaraAAala shay-in waqalati annasaralaysati alyahoodu AAala shay-in wahum yatloona alkitabakathalika qala allatheena layaAAlamoona mithla qawlihim fallahu yahkumubaynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehiyakhtalifoon

The Jews say, "The Christians have nothing true to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing to stand on," although they both recite the Scripture. Thus do those who know not i.e., the polytheists speak the same as their words. But Allāh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

Sectarianism and Disagreement: The destructive nature of religious pride.

The Insight

The Jews claimed the Christians had no basis (in truth), and the Christians claimed the same about the Jews, yet both recited the Scripture. God will judge their disputes on the Day of Judgment. Avoid destructive sectarian pride. While differences in interpretation exist, refrain from arrogantly denying the sincerity of others' faith. Focus on your relationship with God; He will settle all disputes.
