قُلْ لَّاۤ اَمۡلِكُ لِنَفۡسِىۡ نَـفۡعًا وَّلَا ضَرًّا اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللّٰهُ​ ؕ وَلَوۡ كُنۡتُ اَعۡلَمُ الۡغَيۡبَ لَاسۡتَكۡثَرۡتُ مِنَ الۡخَيۡرِ ۖ ​ۛۚ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ السُّۤوۡءُ​ ​ۛۚ اِنۡ اَنَا اِلَّا نَذِيۡرٌ وَّبَشِيۡرٌ لِّقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‏  ۝
Qul la amliku linafsee nafAAan waladarran illa ma shaa Allahuwalaw kuntu aAAlamu alghayba lastakthartu mina alkhayriwama massaniya assoo-o in ana illanatheerun wabasheerun liqawmin yu/minoon
Say, "I hold not for myself the power of benefit or harm, except what Allāh has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe."

Theme of the Ayat

The Prophet's Human Limitation: The inability to bring benefit or harm to himself or others.

The Insight

The Prophet is commanded to declare that he has no power to bring benefit or harm to himself or others, except as God wills. **Acknowledge the Prophet's humanity.** Recognize that the Prophet is fully human. Attribute all power and benefit solely to God.
