آيات AYAT.ONE
وَاِذۡ نَـتَقۡنَا الۡجَـبَلَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ كَاَنَّهٗ ظُلَّةٌ وَّظَنُّوۡۤا اَنَّهٗ وَاقِعٌ ۢ بِهِمۡ​ ۚ خُذُوۡا مَاۤ اٰتَيۡنٰكُمۡ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاذۡكُرُوۡا مَا فِيۡهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَ‏ ۝
Wa-ith nataqna aljabalafawqahum kaannahu thullatun wathannooannahu waqiAAun bihim khuthoo ma ataynakumbiquwwatin wathkuroo ma feehi laAAallakumtattaqoon
And mention when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a dark cloud and they were certain that it would fall upon them, and Allāh said, "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that you might fear Allāh."

The Covenant of the Mountain: The solemn promise taken under the threat of physical force.

The Insight

God lifted Mount Sinai over them, commanding them to hold fast to the revelation and remember its contents. **Respect the solemnity of the contract.** God used a physical sign to emphasize the absolute seriousness of the divine covenant. Adherence must be firm.
