وَقَالَ الۡمَلَاُ مِنۡ قَوۡمِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ اَتَذَرُ مُوۡسٰى وَقَوۡمَهٗ لِيُفۡسِدُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَاٰلِهَتَكَ​ ؕ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ اَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ وَنَسۡتَحۡىٖ نِسَآءَهُمۡ​ ۚ وَاِنَّا فَوۡقَهُمۡ قَاهِرُوۡنَ‏ ۝
Waqala almalao min qawmi firAAawnaatatharu moosa waqawmahu liyufsidoo fee al-ardiwayatharaka waalihataka qala sanuqattilu abnaahumwanastahyee nisaahum wa-inna fawqahum qahiroon
And the eminent among the people of Pharaoh said, "Will you leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?" Pharaoh said, "We will kill their sons and keep their women alive; and indeed, we are subjugators over them."

The Insight

Pharaoh's elite warned him that Musa would cause corruption and change their religion. Pharaoh responded by planning to kill the male children. **Recognize the fear of the tyrant.** Tyrants fear change and rebellion, often resorting to violence and genocide to maintain their status quo.
