Surah Al-An'am (6:86)

وَاِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ وَالۡيَسَعَ وَيُوۡنُسَ وَلُوۡطًا ؕ وَكُلًّا فَضَّلۡنَا عَلَى الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ‏ ۝

Wa-ismaAAeela walyasaAAawayoonusa walootan wakullan faddalna AAalaalAAalameen

And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot - and all of them We preferred over the worlds.

The Danger of Democracy: Following the majority will lead to straying from God's path.

The Insight

If you follow the majority of people on earth, they will lead you astray, as they follow conjecture and lie. **Value truth over popularity.** Do not use public opinion or majority consensus as a measure of truth. The path of righteousness is often lonely and requires intellectual independence.
