ثَمٰنِيَةَ اَزۡوَاجٍ​ ۚ مِنَ الضَّاۡنِ اثۡنَيۡنِ وَمِنَ الۡمَعۡزِ اثۡنَيۡنِ​ ؕ قُلۡ ءٰٓالذَّكَرَيۡنِ حَرَّمَ اَمِ الۡاُنۡثَيَيۡنِ اَمَّا اشۡتَمَلَتۡ عَلَيۡهِ اَرۡحَامُ الۡاُنۡثَيَيۡنِ​ ؕ نَـبِّــُٔــوۡنِىۡ بِعِلۡمٍ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ ۙ‏ ۝
Thamaniyata azwajin mina adda/niithnayni wamina almaAAzi ithnayni qul aththakarayniharrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhiarhamu alonthayayni nabbi-oonee biAAilmin in kuntum sadiqeen
They are eight mates - of the sheep, two and of the goats, two. Say, "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you should be truthful."

The Logical Challenge: The Prophet challenges them to prove their prohibition of livestock.

The Insight

The Prophet questions why they forbid animals that God has not forbidden, challenging them to bring forth decisive evidence. **Demand proof for prohibitions.** Any claim that something is forbidden must be backed by clear, decisive evidence from revelation, not merely conjecture or tradition.
