AYAT.ONE

I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allāh, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

Jesus' Defense: Affirming his role as a servant and a witness.

The Insight

Jesus will affirm that he only commanded worship of God and that he was only a witness over his people during his time. **Uphold prophetic humility.** The greatest prophet is the one who most humbly affirms God's absolute oneness and his own status as a servant.
