AYAT.ONE
Wa-itha qeela lahum taAAalawila ma anzala Allahu wa-ila arrasooliqaloo hasbuna ma wajadnaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana abaohumla yaAAlamoona shay-an wala yahtadoon
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allāh has revealed and to the Messenger," they say, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers." Even though their fathers knew nothing, nor were they guided?

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Excuse of Ignorance: Following ancestors even if they lacked intellect and guidance.

The Insight

When commanded to follow revelation, they defaulted to the excuse of following their ignorant ancestors. **Critique inherited practice.** Do not use blind adherence to ancestral tradition as an excuse to reject clear, current divine guidance.
