AYAT.ONE
Wa-inna minkum laman layubatti-annafa-in asabatkum museebatun qala qad anAAamaAllahu AAalayya ith lam akun maAAahum shaheeda
And indeed, there is among you he who lingers behind; and if disaster strikes you, he says, "Allāh has favored me in that I was not present with them."

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Hypocrisy of Evasion: The excuses of the faint-hearted in times of struggle.

The Insight

The faint-hearted hypocrite would intentionally delay mobilization and seek to avoid any risk, rejoicing in the believers' misfortune. **Reject the comfort of evasion.** Do not let fear or love of comfort cause you to shirk communal responsibilities. Evasion in times of crisis reveals spiritual insincerity.
