Surah An-Nisa (4:54)

اَمۡ يَحۡسُدُوۡنَ النَّاسَ عَلٰى مَاۤ اٰتٰٮهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنۡ فَضۡلِهٖۚ فَقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَاۤ اٰلَ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ الۡـكِتٰبَ وَالۡحِكۡمَةَ وَاٰتَيۡنٰهُمۡ مُّلۡكًا عَظِيۡمًا‏ ۝

Am yahsudoona annasaAAala ma atahumu Allahu min fadlihifaqad atayna ala ibraheema alkitabawalhikmata waataynahum mulkan AAatheema

Or do they envy people for what Allāh has given them of His bounty? But We had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.

The Jealousy of Prophethood: The envy of God's favor upon the Prophet's family.

The Insight

They are condemned for envying God's favor (Prophethood) bestowed upon the family of Abraham. **Avoid institutional jealousy.** Do not let jealousy prevent you from recognizing truth, excellence, or prophetic gifts bestowed upon individuals or communities you dislike.
