And do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy. If you should be suffering - so are they suffering as you are suffering, but you expect from Allāh that which they expect not. And Allāh is ever Knowing and Wise.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Morality of Conflict: Not despairing while enemies suffer.

The Insight

Believers are commanded not to weaken in pursuing the enemy. If you suffer, they suffer too, but you hope for things from God that they do not. **Maintain hope in struggle.** When facing hardship, recognize that your opponents also suffer. Your fundamental advantage is the spiritual hope and security that only faith in God can provide.
