Surah Al-Imran (3:83)

اَفَغَيۡرَ دِيۡنِ اللّٰهِ يَبۡغُوۡنَ وَلَهٗۤ اَسۡلَمَ مَنۡ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ طَوۡعًا وَّكَرۡهًا وَّاِلَيۡهِ يُرۡجَعُوۡنَ‏ ۝

Afaghayra deeni Allahi yabghoonawalahu aslama man fee assamawati wal-arditawAAan wakarhan wa-ilayhi yurjaAAoon

So is it other than the religion of Allāh they desire, while to Him have submitted all those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned?

Theme of the Ayat

The Universal Submission: All in the heavens and earth willingly or unwillingly submit to God.

The Insight

Everything in the heavens and earth submits to God, willingly or unwillingly, and all will return to Him. Embrace voluntary submission. Since all creation is submitted to God by force of natural law, choose to submit willingly. This conscious choice is the core of human faith.
