Surah Al-Imran 3:69
وَدَّتۡ طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ مِّنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡكِتٰبِ لَوۡ يُضِلُّوۡنَكُمؕۡ وَمَا يُضِلُّوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ‏ ۝
Waddat ta-ifatun min ahli alkitabilaw yudilloonakum wama yudilloona illaanfusahum wama yashAAuroon
A faction of the People of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive it not.

The Insight

A section of the People of the Book sought to misguide the believers, but they only misguided themselves without realizing it. Ignore malicious intent. Recognize that those who oppose the truth often work against their own best interest. Focus on your path, knowing that God protects the sincere believer from the plots of the envious.
