The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present before it and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that evil was a great distance. And Allāh warns you of Himself, and Allāh is Kind to His servants."

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Day of Regret: Every soul will face its accumulated deeds, wishing distance.

The Insight

On that Day, every soul will find its good deeds present and its evil deeds clearly laid out, wishing there was a great distance between itself and its sins. Close the distance now. View every temptation as something that will eventually appear as a source of deep shame. The desire to erase past misdeeds should motivate immediate repentance and abandonment of sin today.
