Do you not consider, O Muḥammad, those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allāh that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Failure of Scholarship: Those who possess the book but refuse to follow its clear command.

The Insight

This critiques those who were given the Scripture but turn away from it when invited to follow its arbitration. Value implementation over possession. Possessing knowledge (a degree, a spiritual text) is worthless if you reject its practical application when it challenges your interests or requires reconciliation.
