آيات AYAT.ONE
اَلَّذِيۡنَ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَهِدَ اِلَيۡنَاۤ اَلَّا نُؤۡمِنَ لِرَسُوۡلٍ حَتّٰى يَاۡتِيَنَا بِقُرۡبَانٍ تَاۡكُلُهُ النَّارُ​ؕ قُلۡ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ رُسُلٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِىۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَبِالَّذِىۡ قُلۡتُمۡ فَلِمَ قَتَلۡتُمُوۡهُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ ۝
Allatheena qaloo inna AllahaAAahida ilayna alla nu/mina lirasoolin hattaya/tiyana biqurbanin ta/kuluhu annaruqul qad jaakum rusulun min qablee bilbayyinatiwabillathee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kutum sadiqeen
They are those who said, "Indeed, Allāh has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire from heaven will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and even that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"

The Demand for Fire: Arrogantly rejecting the Prophet's evidence.

The Insight

They arrogantly rejected the Prophet's message, claiming they would only believe a messenger who brought an offering consumed by fire. Do not invent preconditions for faith. Reject the tendency to set arbitrary, self-serving conditions for accepting the truth. The sincerity of your heart should be your only condition.
