Those to whom people i.e., hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it merely increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allāh, and He is the best Disposer of affairs."

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Maxim of Reliance: Trusting in God when threats are great.

The Insight

When threatened, their response was to say, 'God is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.'. Internalize absolute trust. Make reliance (*Tawakkul*) on God your primary response to fear and threats. This conviction is a shield that calms the heart and secures divine support.
