AYAT.ONE

Muḥammad is not but a messenger. Other messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels to unbelief? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allāh at all; but Allāh will reward the grateful.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Finality of the Message: The Prophet's mortality does not end the mission.

The Insight

The Prophet is a messenger who is mortal. If he dies or is killed, believers must not abandon the religion, as abandoning it harms only themselves. Maintain faith in the source. Your faith must be rooted in God's eternal message (the Qur'an), not the mortality of a human leader. The mission continues even after the messenger is gone.
