AYAT.ONE
Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nu/mina laka hatta nara Allahajahratan faakhathatkumu assaAAiqatu waantumtanthuroon
And recall when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allāh outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Arrogance of Demand: Refusing belief without visual proof.

The Insight

They arrogantly demanded to see God openly before they would believe Musa, leading to the punishment of a thunderbolt. Beware of unrealistic expectations of faith. True belief is conviction in the unseen, not scientific observation. Demanding spectacular proof often stems from pride and is a sign of deep spiritual skepticism.
