O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not aim toward the defective therefrom, spending from that while you would not take it yourself except with closed eyes. And know that Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Command to Give the Best: Spending from pure and good earnings.

The Insight

Believers are commanded to spend in charity from the good, pure things they earn and not give the worst quality from their wealth. Offer your best work. When giving charity or performing service, always offer the best quality of your wealth, time, or skill, not the useless remnants you would never keep for yourself.
