And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, do not prevent them from remarrying their former husbands if they i.e., all parties agree among themselves on an acceptable basis. That is instructed to whoever of you believes in Allāh and the Last Day. That is better for you and purer, and Allāh knows and you know not.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Freedom of Remarriage: Not preventing women from marrying fairly.

The Insight

Guardians are commanded not to prevent divorced women from remarrying their former husbands (or new partners) if they agree justly. Empower women's autonomy. Do not interfere with a woman's right to remarry based on familial pride or tribal customs. The decision to remarry must be based on mutual, lawful agreement between the partners.
