Battle has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allāh knows, while you know not.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Obligation of Struggle: Warfare is prescribed, despite human dislike.

The Insight

Fighting is mandated, though it is disliked by nature. God knows the true benefit or harm in an action that humans may despise. Accept difficult duties. Understand that not all obligations will feel comfortable or desirable. True submission involves obeying commands that are rationally or emotionally challenging, trusting God's wisdom over personal preference.
