AYAT.ONE
Inna assafa walmarwatamin shaAAa-iri Allahi faman hajja albaytaawi iAAtamara fala junaha AAalayhi an yattawwafabihima waman tatawwaAAa khayran fa-inna Allahashakirun AAaleem
Indeed, aṣ-Ṣafā and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allāh. So whoever makes ḥajj pilgrimage to the House or performs ʿumrah - there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allāh is Appreciative and Knowing.

Tadabbur (Reflection)

Theme of the Ayat

The Sacred Ritual: Safa and Marwah are signs, and charity is voluntary good.

The Insight

The mountains of Safa and Marwah are declared signs of God and running between them is mandatory during Hajj and Umrah. Voluntarily performing good deeds (*Khayr*) beyond the obligation is recognized. Value purposeful struggle. Recognize the rituals as historical symbols. Running between these hills symbolizes the human struggle, reminding us that strenuous effort in God's way is beloved.
